Westboro Baptist Members Crashing Funeral of Fallen Omaha Cop Find Quite a Surprise Waiting for Them

When the Westboro Baptist Church announced members would picket the funeral of slain Omaha police officer Kerrie Orozco, friends, retired officers and residents of Omaha sprung into action.

Orozco was gunned down by a gang member while attempting an arrest last week.

And, as they’ve done for soldiers who have died in combat, Westboro threatened to picket Orozco’s funeral:

The Fraternal Order of Police sounded the alarm about Westboro’s planned picketing:

Outside the funeral when Westboro’s signs came out, people carrying sheets adorned with a blue stripe to represent ‘blue lives matter’ came out, too.

And Westboro’s signs seemed to just — disappear.

Omaha police supporters sounded off on Twitter:

Very proud of my city for how they handled the Westboro protesters today. Kerrie would be proud of our compassionate community. #KerrieOn

I think the westboro baptist church needs Jesus more than anyone else considering they picketed Kerrie Orozco’s funeral today. #pathetic

Still, Westboro posted this Vine declaring victory:

But from the family’s viewpoint, this is what they saw while accompanying the body to the church:
